This 4-day Tanzania safari takes you from Arusha to the wildlife-rich Tarangire National Park and the iconic Serengeti Plains. Experience exciting game drives, spot elephants, lions, and other Big Five animals, and stay in comfortable lodges and tented camps for an unforgettable safari experience.

4 Days Tanzania Safari Itinerary

Day 1 : Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Accommodation: Tarangire Simba Lodge or Sangaiwe Tented Lodge

Drive time: ~2 hrs (120 km)

Depart Arusha in the morning and drive to Tarangire National Park, home to some of Tanzania’s largest elephant herds and ancient baobab trees. Enjoy a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch inside the park. In the late afternoon, head to your lodge for check-in, dinner, and overnight.

Day 2 : Tarangire – Serengeti National Park

Accommodation: Serengeti Kati Kati Tented Camp

Drive time: ~6 hrs (via Ngorongoro)

After early breakfast, begin your scenic drive to the Serengeti, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with optional photo stops. Enter Serengeti for an en-route game drive through the central Seronera area. Arrive at your camp by sunset for dinner and overnight.

Day 3 : Full Day in Serengeti National Park

Accommodation: Serengeti Kati Kati Tented Camp

Spend the entire day on game drives exploring the rich wildlife of central Serengeti. Early morning and late afternoon are prime times for viewing lions, cheetahs, elephants, and potentially the Great Migration, depending on the season. Optional hot air balloon safari at dawn.

Optional: Sunrise balloon safari (extra cost)

Day 4 : Serengeti – Arusha (via Air or Road)

Options:

  1. 1. Flight from Serengeti to Arusha (~1 hr – highly recommended)
  2. 2. Drive back to Arusha (~8 hrs with picnic lunch en route)

Enjoy a short morning game drive in Serengeti (if time allows), then transfer to the Seronera Airstrip for a scheduled flight to Arusha, arriving around midday. Alternatively, drive back via the Ngorongoro highlands with lunch on the way. Drop-off in Arusha or at the airport.
